Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) on Monday launched an e-billing system in a bid to promote transparency <\/a>and good governance in its system, a news source reported. The facility is expected to ensure transparency against corruption and slash time by 50% on the bills processing task.<\/p>\n

Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Service Murad Saeed launched the initiative. He said that this facility would increase efficiency while effectively placing checks on corruption. It is meant to save time and costs, while improving managerial control and facilitating the contractors, he added.<\/p>\n

Through the system, contractors will now be able to submit bills at the online billing portal. Consultants will then verify the bill and the concerned project authority will implement the required checks before approving the payment. The Finance Wing will oversee the processing and approval of the amount before releasing it to the beneficiary.<\/p>\n
