Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan approved the proposed deadline extension for the Federal Commission<\/a> to submit its final report for the capital\u2019s master plan revision, a news source reported. This approval was given after a meeting with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed. The commission was formed last year in December and had a period of six months to complete their task (till July 13), but the federal government has decided to give them an extension of one month.<\/p>\n

The commission had previously decided that it would provide a preliminary report to the federal government with a recommendation to hire a consultant for an in-depth study. They would finalise the changes for the master plan according to the study\u2019s results. The report was to be submitted only as an outline to guide the final plan. However, after the meeting with the PM, it has been decided that the existing commission will be providing a final report, while a hired consultant will merely work on the plan\u2019s implementation.<\/p>\n
