<\/strong>Hyderabad: Sindh Chief Secretary (CS) Mumtaz Ali Shah recently announced that the provincial government would redraft the existing master plan for Hyderabad city, since the existing one required major improvements \u2013 a news source reported. He expressed his views on the matter during a press briefing held on Friday, August 2.<\/p>\n

Shah said that the government would make changes to the plan to meet the increasing needs of civic amenities (including rehabilitation of the drainage system) as part of the upcoming planned expansion of the city.<\/p>\n

The CS told the press that the executive had made repeated attempts to provide water to the tail-end areas of the city, but could not fulfil the task because of overall shortage in the system. At the high court\u2019s orders, the provincial government would increase the number of Rangers deployed in the areas experiencing water shortage to keep a check on instances of water theft.<\/p>\n
