Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Friday held a meeting with the representatives of the commission constituted to redraft Islamabad\u2019s master plan<\/a>, during which he instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to protect the green areas of the city \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

He said that the proposed revisions should include arrangements geared towards the protection and development of green areas in the capital city. He added that the authorities concerned should acknowledge population trends while making revisions to the master plan.<\/p>\n

He said that in the past, population growth and consequent urbanisation of the city had led to the construction of unplanned buildings and the reduction of green areas. This undertaking further led to administrative and environmental problems. He added that the issues pertaining to the climate change were of utmost importance to the government and needed urgent attention.<\/p>\n
