Gujrat: The federal government has approved a mega construction project worth PKR 7 billion for the beautification of Gujrat<\/a>\u2019s main entrances from GT Road near the River Chenab, a news source reported. Most work will be undertaken in the rural areas of NA-69, as well as some urban areas of the same constituency.<\/p>\n

The proposed scheme includes two bridges, two flyovers, and a 30km long dual carriageway from the GT Road bypass. One flyover will be constructed from the GT Road bypass connecting it to the old GT Road. Then a wide, dual carriageway would be constructed from Shadiwal Town.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the construction of two bridges over the Bhimbher storm water channel and the Upper Jhelum Canal has been planned. The second flyover will be constructed over the Gujrat-Sargodha Road, connecting it with the dual carriageway.<\/p>\n

The flyovers are expected to be modelled on the Azadi Flyover in Lahore in a bid to beautify the entrance of the Gujrat.<\/p>\n
