Previously, it had attributed the low water levels persisting till June to climate change.<\/p>\n<p>The authority\u2019s Sindh member Mazhar Ali Shah briefed the Senate Standing Committee on National Food Security about the situation. He made these statements during a meeting chaired by Senator Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah at the committee room of the Parliament House.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the dams received most of their water supply from snowmelt; but this year, the temperature did not hit the certain level. Therefore, water level in the rivers had remained scarce till June 15.<\/p>\n<p>Once the rains started, he added, the water levels rose and the provinces received sufficient supply for their requirements.
