Khar: During a conference titled \u2018promotion of tourism in Banjaur\u2019 held on Friday, speakers referred to the recently merged tribal districts as highly suitable places to be developed as tourist destinations, and urged the government to take necessary steps <\/a>to encourage tourism in the region, a news source reported.<\/p>\n

The event was organised by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa forest department. It was aimed at promoting awareness regarding the importance of tourism in uplifting the socio-economic status of locals and select potential spots to attract tourists in the region. The organisers said that tribal districts with their mountains, waterfalls, springs and waterfalls could become famous tourist destinations.<\/p>\n

Deputy commissioner Usman Mehsud, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mehmood Ahmed Khan, Divisional Forest Officer Hayat Ali, members of the IUCN, tribal leaders, and historians were all present at the occasion.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the authorities concerned have decided to initially select five spots through a proper survey and suggestion of the local elders, and develop them as tourist spots equipped with all modern, lifestyle amenities.<\/p>\n

The areas of Kohimoor, Gabbar Cheena, Sari Sar, Zulam and Sheen Gass are presently under consideration for their scenic landscape and accessibility.
