Larkana: Sindh Minister for Transport Awais Qadir Shah<\/a> on Monday inaugurated the \u2018Intra-people bus service\u2019 in Larkana, a news source reported. Among the attendees of the ceremony were Transport Secretary Ghulam Abbas Detho, Larkana Mayor Khair Mohammed Shaikh, and other officials concerned.<\/p>\n

The minister said that this initiative was meant to be a pilot project for which a survey was conducted for a period of four months in the five districts: Larkana, Sukkar, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, and Shaheed Benazirabad.<\/p>\n

He said that private entrepreneurs would manage this project and all the vehicles. He added that the provincial government offered the existing infrastructure facilities along the prescribed routes. The operators of this service were required to charge fares as prescribed by the government, he said.<\/p>\n

He said that a toll-free number would be issued to commuters to approach the department, in case of complaints. He also congratulated the people of Larkana on being the first ones to enjoy the service. \u00a0He opined that private transporters could retain their route permits as long as there were no legal violations.<\/p>\n
