Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to resume the development work of the Kuri Model Village project<\/a>, a news source reported. The project was initially meant to compensate people whose land was acquired in the 1960s for setting up Islamabad city.<\/p>\n

The CDA is expected to collect revenue worth PKR 1 billion by launching this project, for which it is expected to clear up the land marked to comprise Kuri Model Village. According to sources within the CDA, the land development authority has taken this decision to put 22,000 kanals of CDA land to use, which is located adjacent to Kuri.<\/p>\n

The project was re-launched nine years ago to facilitate overseas Pakistanis. In 2013, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intervened to investigate the project on accounts of various incidents of duplicate plot allotments.<\/p>\n
