Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has allocated <\/a>approximately PKR 580 million for the restoration, repair and reconstruction of major roads across the city, a news source reported. The authority has already started rehabilitation work on Allama Iqbal Town, Moulana Shaukat Ali Road, Sabzazar and other areas.<\/p>\n

Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the LDA has allocated the said amount for reconstruction of major roads, curbstone painting, asphalt laying, and patchwork. Funds worth PKR 70.62 million will be spent on the maintenance of Khayaban-e-Jamia Punjab, Shaukat Ali Road, Wahdat Road, Main Boulevard Allama Iqbal Town and roads near it, along with several small roads within Muslim Town. Another PKR 10.32million will be used for the repair of roads in Samanabad, Sabzazar, and Gulshan e Ravi.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, LDA Director General Muhammad Usman Moazam has instructed the Traffic Planning and Transport Engineering Agency (TEPA) to implement traffic management systems of international standards.
