He revealed this information at the 21st Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) Convention \u2013 titled \u2018Challenging Times, Winning Strategies\u2019 \u2013 held in Islamabad.<\/p>\n<p>Read:\u00a0<a class=\"row-title\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/chaudhry-all-time-high-tax-filer-numbers-recorded.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FBR records \u2018all time-high\u2019 tax filer numbers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He said that the FBR aims to increase this count to four million in tax year 2019. Moreover, he said that the federal institution would not revoke its policy requirement for traders to display their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/cnic-now-required-for-purchases-over-pkr-50000.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNICs for undertaking<\/a> purchases in excess of PKR 50,000.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to broaden the tax base; saying that it will not back away from taxing the services and trade sector. He also announced the taxation authority\u2019s intention tackle the smuggling rackets from September 1 onwards.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the FBR is broadening its tax base to include teachers, doctors and educational institutes. So far, tax notices have been issued to educational institutes and doctors.
