Lahore: The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) is set to launch its investigation into the alleged illegal land occupation<\/a> of the Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah Trust\u2019s property in Gulberg and Ichhra, according to a news source.<\/p>\n

For this purpose, the department has sought property records from the revenue office and initiated legal proceedings against the grabbers, said ACE Director General (DG) Gohar Nafees. He also revealed that notices were recently issued to the officials of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) in this regard.<\/p>\n

As per a report presented by the Ichhra Patwar circle (Model Town Tehsil), Sir Nawab Shah Nawaz Khan and Nawab Iftikhar Hussain Khan Mamdot purchased 324 kanals that bore transfer mutation number 1769, 1768, 1767 and 1766, and they sold the said land to Quaid-e-Azam. The Quaid later transferred the property to his trust (run by Fatimah Jinnah and Liaquat Ali Khan) through transfer mutation number 1891).<\/p>\n

Out of this land, over 268-Kanal were acquired by the then government and transferred to the Lahore Improvement Trust (LIT). Later, another 13 kanals, 12 marlas and 157 feet were transferred to the LIT; leaving 42 kanals, 8 marlas and 8 feet in Quaid\u2019s trust name. However, the land\/revenue records have no mention of these details.
