LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has tabled three plans for cleaning the provincial metropolis in front of a review committee constituted by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

As per officials, the proposals include continuation of the existing model, collection of primary waste by LWMC and shifting it to landfill site through outsourcing and collection, and the disposal of entire waste by the LWMC staff.<\/p>\n

Previously, the CM Office had notified the constitution of the committee to review the affairs of the LWMC. The Punjab finance minister was notified as the chairman of the 13-member committee. Its members included: Advisor to CM on Economic Affairs and Planning & Development Salman Shah, Chairman P&D Board, Provincial Secretary Finance, Provincial Secretary LG&CD, Commissioner Lahore, Chairman LWMC, MD LWMC, Asad Khalid, Head Corporate Finance Unit, Finance Department, General Manager Punjab Pension Fund, Mian Ejaz, Ex Civil Servant, Muhammad Rafique, ex DO Solid Waste Management Company and any other member to be co-opted.<\/p>\n

The first meeting of the review committee was held at the LWMC head office on Wednesday. LWMC Managing Director Ajmal Bhatti presented the aforementioned three solutions.
