This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/govt-to-increase-power-generation-phase-out-thermal-plants.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">target is to be increased<\/a> to 26,000 megawatts in the next year. This has happened for the first time in the country\u2019s history.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary Power Division Irfan Ali told the PM that special attention was being paid to public complaints regarding inflated bills, corruption, and increase in tariffs, among other things. Additionally, 80% of feeders have been secured from power theft throughout the country. Installation of AMI meters and ABC cables was also underway.<\/p>\n<p>Renewable energy projects, which had been on hold for two years, have also been expedited. A pilot project of LESCO has also been initiated, and will make the process of obtaining new connections easier.
