Quetta: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) on Saturday informed the Balochistan High Court (BHC) about the city\u2019s master plan finalisation, a news source reported. As per the official, the blueprint \u2013 prepared by the traffic police \u2013 would be tabled before the chief minister for his approval.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the DIG said that efforts were underway with regard to the construction of slip roads on Saleem Complex Junction, Patel Road and Kawari Road to facilitate vehicular movement in the city.<\/p>\n

Previously, the court had commenced with its proceedings on a petition filed by Advocate Agha Nazeer; who requested court\u2019s intervention in the traffic congestion and encroachment problems. The petition also drew court\u2019s attention to the Jinnah-Zarghoon Link Road closure and requested the revenue staff to review the records, inspect the site and consider road opening arrangements.<\/p>\n

In response, the provincial advocate general and deputy inspector general (DIG) of the city informed the court that the government had planned to develop parking plazas to address the traffic congestion issue.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) submitted its report; briefing its anti-encroachment campaign<\/a> before the BHC bench which consisted of Justice Rozi Khan Barrech and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail.<\/p>\n

The QMC told the court that the department was meeting with various concerned departments to obtain public land for the expansion of the roads.<\/p>\n
