Two of these schemes, with a collective cost of PKR 25 billion, were forwarded to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) for its approval.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/eight-projects-worth-pkr-11-bn-approved-by-cdwp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eight projects worth PKR 11 bn approved by CDWP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The two projects forwarded to the ECNEC are the operationalisation of Green Line Bus Rapid Transport System in Karachi at a cost of PKR 10.956 billion and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/tunnel-boring-sewerage-project-lahore-approved.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">modern tunnel-boring sewerage system<\/a> for Lahore worth PKR 14.146 billion. The CDWP is authorised to approve projects costing up to PKR 10 billion on its own under the new financial rules. More costlier schemes are sent to the ECNEC for final approval after CDWP approves them on technical grounds.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining projects consisted of two schemes for the energy sector\u2019s development; including an ADB-funded 500kV Moro Substation scheme worth PKR 7.124 billion and a study worth PKR 1.042 billion to establish a few nuclear power plants.
