Lahore: The Punjab government has formally approved a Smart Monitoring of Development Projects programme, a news source reported. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar gave his go-ahead to the programme. Read:\u00a0Punjab to release 30% of development funds under provincial budget The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) collaborated with the Punjab Planning & Development Department to propose an online system for monitoring spending on ongoing development projects in the province. According to sources, the provincial government aimed to overcome information gaps among the different stakeholders with this smart monitoring system. The system would also help in reducing the number of delays, along with enhancing the transparency and efficiency of the implementation process of the projects. These projects include those under the Mid-Term Development Framework (MTDF) and Annual Development Programme (ADP).
