Rawalpindi: The Government of Punjab has reached out to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to request funding for development projects in Rawalpindi, according to a news source. These projects include the Dadocha<\/a> and Chahan Dams, and a sewerage treatment plant in the city.<\/p>\n

A senior official from the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) stated that Rawalpindi\u2019s water resources need to be expanded, and work is ongoing on the construction of the Dadocha and Chahan Dams to meet the city\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n

In addition, he revealed that WASA and ADB officials had held a meeting earlier this week in Lahore to discuss upcoming projects. He also said that the government was looking for financial assistance under ADB\u2019s ongoing Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Programme.<\/p>\n

ADB agreed to consider giving technical assistance and conduct feasibility studies for the two dams in the second phase of this programme.
