Bhakkar: The local police department has launched a centralised police emergency helpline in collaboration with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), a news source reported. The purpose of this facility, \u2018Pukaar 15\u2019, is to provide citizens with 24\/7 guidance at their convenience. This initiative comes in a long line of projects the Punjab Safe City Authority is undertaking to improve the safety in various cities across the country, including Kasur<\/a>\u00a0and even Peshawar.<\/p>\n

The basis of the project is a centralised system and response mechanism that links all districts of the province as well as all the police officials in the province with one another. All complaints to the system will be forwarded to the relevant police departments which will then deal with the issue individually.<\/p>\n

All calls to the helpline will be received at the PSCA headquarters in Lahore before being transferred to its respective districts. For this purpose, a centre has been established at Qurban Lines in Lahore, while another has been set up at the DPO\u2019s office in Bhakkar. More offices in other districts of the province will be set up soon.<\/p>\n

The department is expected to submit a report detailing the actions taken to resolve public concerns. A special software designed specifically for this purpose will be used by the respondents to enter details; including the response initiated by the police force and the final action taken.<\/p>\n

Further, trained and experienced staff would be hired at all helpline centres so they may offer correct guidance to the locals.
