Islamabad: The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has suggested that the Chinese model for rural tourism be implemented in Pakistan, a news source reported. This suggestion was made during a meeting of the PCJCCI Think Tank on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The members of the meeting noted that there was a widening income gap between farmers and urban workers. They believed that the problem would only keep getting worse if long-term strategies were not adopted to counter this issue. It was for this reason that the promotion of rural tourism was such an important policy to implement.<\/p>\n

The PCJCCI President Zarak Khan stated that Pakistan was famous as a tourist paradise and that the interest of international tourists to visit the country had been increasing steadily over the years.<\/p>\n

Around the globe, rural tourism has allowed visitors to explore the traditional way of life of a particular country. PCJCCI Senior Vice President Moazam Ghurki said that Pakistan had a rich cultural heritage, which was still alive in its villages. He remarked that the locals are rich in crafts, culture and arts, all of which are notable attractions for international tourists. He added that they can be used to improve the economy, and to open up Pakistan\u2019s heritage to the world.<\/p>\n
