It is important to remember that the basic issue with One Constitution Avenue was that the building\u2019s occupiers were allegedly using it for purposes other than the ones previously agreed upon. Even though the land had been earmarked for the construction of a five-star hotel, it was instead being used for an apartment project.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Bandial asked the CDA for their opinion on the best and most feasible solution possible for this particular issue; either demolishing the building, or some other alternative. Previously, the CDA had cancelled the owner\u2019s lease due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/cda-seals-houses-zone-ii-iii-v-non-conforming-use.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unauthorised usage<\/a> of the hotel site for residential purposes.
