Karachi: The Sindh government has expressed its willingness to provide assistance for the development of firefighting systems in the province\u2019s industrial and commercial centres which lack these facilities, a news source reported.<\/p>\n

Provincial Minister of Sindh for Local Government (LG) Syed Nasir Hussain Shah revealed this information during a \u2018Fire Safety & Security Convention\u2019 organised by the National Forum for Environment, Health, and Fire Protection Association.<\/p>\n

He said that the provincial executive had decided to commence with the said initiative in its bid to ensure the availability of firefighting equipment in these buildings. Similarly, it had planned on making improvements to the firefighting system of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shah said that industrial and commercial units as well as high-rise buildings required adequate firefighting facilities because these places were vulnerable to significant loss of life and financial assets during accidents.
