Lahore: The Punjab government plans on facilitating international and local tourists by constructing a land route to Kamran\u2019s Baradari,<\/em> a Mughal-era tourist site located by the Ravi River, a news source reported. Previously, individuals hoping to visit the area had to go through the inconvenience of hiring a boat in order to get across the river; yet, the planned development will provide them with another option.<\/p>\n

The Punjab Tourism Department is also considering several renovations and design upgrades for this popular tourist spot. Kamran\u2019s Baradari is a centuries old monument standing in the centre of the Ravi River, and was long considered an ideal spot for picnics and similar outings. However, the site has been in a dilapidated condition for some time, which ultimately tarnished its reputation with visitors.<\/p>\n

Tourism Consultant Asif Mehmood has reached out to the Department of Archaeology and other relevant government authorities to provide their technical opinions on the renovation work required for the Baradari<\/em>. The officials concerned have also carried out a survey in this regard.<\/p>\n

Lahore Commissioner Mohammad Asif Bilal Lodhi revealed that, as the water level in Ravi River has not risen since 1988, it has allowed tourists to easily cross the river in order to reach the Baradari<\/em>. He added that in light of this information, the government has decided to provide tourists better facilities and build a land-route to the monument as well.<\/p>\n

Lodhi stated that the relevant authorities will begin the renovation work on the Baradari<\/em> soon. He added that they have also acquired the services of renowned archaeologists for the uplift project.
