Khar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Tuesday launched six projects under the Prime Minister\u2019s National Agricultural Emergency Programme<\/a>, a news source reported. Reportedly, the CM launched these projects in the Bajaur District for the betterment of the residents of the area, and to have a positive impact on the tribal districts.<\/p>\n

The CM inaugurated an olive cultivation project, along with an olive oil extraction plant. He also distributed poultry and livestock products among the people. Wheat seeds were distributed as well and people were urged to play their role in making this emergency programme a huge success. Additionally, people were provided with milk chiller tanks in order to help with setting-up dairy businesses.<\/p>\n

CM Khan was informed that wheat seeds worth PKR 2.195 billion had been distributed among the locals of the Bajaur district so that they may begin to cultivate 4,500 acres of land. \u00a0He was also briefed about 11 ongoing projects in the area, relating to agriculture, fisheries and livestock.<\/p>\n

According to the plan laid out under the National Agricultural Emergency Programme, a total of PKR 44.5 billion will be spent on making improvements to the agriculture, irrigation, livestock, and fisheries industries in KP during the current government\u2019s tenure. PKR 25.21 billion have already been allocated to the tribal districts, while an additional PKR 10.46 billion will be spent on short term projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
