Peshawar: The Cantonment Board of Peshawar (CBP) has announced its decision to reinstate Saddar Road as a two-way thoroughfare, according to a news source. Previously, two-way vehicular movement had remained halted on this avenue to facilitate one-way traffic commute.<\/p>\n

As per officials, the CBP had reversed its previous decision to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the area; which receives considerable commercial traffic load. Further, the board aims to address commute concerns of the city\u2019s residents, especially schoolchildren.<\/p>\n

CBP Vice Chairman Waris Khan Afridi informed the press that this decision was reviewed after a meeting between the traders\u2019 representatives and the board\u2019s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rana Khawar and Station Commander Brigadier Shafiq.<\/p>\n

Afridi stated that the board would take every necessary measure to remedy any inconvenience faced by the city\u2019s residents due to the previous decision.<\/p>\n

Peshawar Chamber of Small Traders and Industry President Mohammad Atif Haleem appreciated the CBP\u2019s decision to reopen Saddar Road for two-way traffic; stating it to be beneficial for the business community and the area\u2019s citizens.<\/p>\n
