Islamabad: The Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) on Sunday approved a new land revenue records management system for the capital city, a news source reported. As per the publication, the development body further sanctioned the initiation of two other developmental ventures within the city \u2013 with the total cost for all three projects amounting to PKR 1.19 billion.<\/p>\n

These proposals were approved during a meeting of the IDWP that was chaired by Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed. The Land Revenue Record Management System project was thoroughly vetted before being accepted by the members of the meeting; however, Commissioner Ahmed directed that the 12-month time period allocated for the completion of the project should be cut down, as there was an urgent need for the system.<\/p>\n

The commissioner instructed the related officials to complete the project within six months. He suggested that the authorities concerned should take assistance from the Punjab Land Revenue Authority, National Information Technology Board (NITB), and the National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) to expedite the work in this regard.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the meeting approved 15 union council (UCs) projects in Islamabad, as part of the road and pavement project initiated under ICT. It also cleared the installation of 1.437 million square feet (sq ft) of drain pipes in 18 UCs of the city, along with 16 water supply schemes for rural areas of Islamabad under the sewage, sanitation, and water supply project.<\/p>\n
