Bahawalpur: The Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) has reported on its receipt of 21,000 applications for a land allotment package<\/a> launched by a former Punjab chief minister for the area\u2019s residents. CDA Managing Director Rana Muhammad Aslam expressed his views on the matter during a press briefing.<\/p>\n

The package for land allotment was introduced in 2014, but the process of allotment could not be completed. The incumbent government then started the entire process afresh after coming into power. The process was started again in October and is expected to continue till December 26.<\/p>\n

To facilitate the registration process, seven counters for the residents of the seven union councils of Cholistan were set up in the CDA office. Following the conclusion of the registration process on Tuesday, the application data was computerised immediately to avoid misplacements and mistakes.<\/p>\n

The CDA recently contacted the Punjab Board of Revenue; requesting the availability of an official from the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to facilitate the computerisation process in order to avoid mistakes and overlapping. This will also ensure transparency in the process of balloting.
