Lahore: The Punjab government announced its decision to set up model bazaars and agricultural fair price shops <\/a>(farmer\u2019s market) in 142 tehsils of the province \u2014 aimed at controlling the prices of essential commodities, according to news sources.<\/p>\n

The decision was made in a meeting that was chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. However, in another meeting held at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, under the chairmanship of provincial Industries and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, the subject was further deliberated upon at length.<\/p>\n

The meeting was informed that the spadework for the project has been finalised and their locations have also been identified. Minister Iqbal directed the officials concerned to finish the registrations of the shops to set up the fair-priced bazaars; the aim of which is to provide relief to the common people.<\/p>\n
