Karachi: The Sindh government has announced its decision to take action against defaulters of professional tax following the expiration of the December 31 deadline \u2013 a news source reported. This was decided in a meeting chaired by the Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla.<\/p>\n
Chawla further directed the officials of the Sindh Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department to develop strategies for the recovery of the tax. Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Secretary Abdul Haleem Shaikh, E&T Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other relevant officials were all present at the occasion.<\/p>\n
The minister also reprimanded the officials who had been unable to achieve the assigned targets. He added that the officers should make personal efforts on the matter.
