As per the new project design, the circular road will now loop around the entirety of the capital city and Rawalpindi; with its total length having been increased to 66 kilometres from the previous twenty-six.<\/p>\n<p>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/rrr-drainage-work-completed-technical-work-underway.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RRR: Drainage work completed, technical work underway<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Zameen.com earlier shared a report on the proposed plan for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/ring-road-project-plan-drafted-for-islamabad.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Islamabad Ring Road<\/a> (IRR) to be developed along the lines of RRR. It appears that the concerned authorities have now decided to merge two projects both to save time and money. The inauguration of IRR was slated for the first quarter of 2020, which is the same time around which work on RRR is expected to begin.<\/p>\n<p>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/rrr-to-end-at-m-2-rawalpindi-commissioner.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RRR to end at M-2: Rawalpindi Commissioner<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As per the new plan, instead of ending at Murat, Fateh Jang, the RRR will snake around the Islamabad International Airport near Sangjani and head to Zero Point; from where it will be connected with Radio Pakistan Building on GT Road in Rawat to complete the 66-kilometre-long loop.<\/p>\n<p>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/rrr-leh-expressway-design-feasibility-studies-expected-in-may-2020.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RRR, Leh Expressway design, feasibility studies expected in May 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Zurich International, the consultancy firm hired for the RRR project, has now been tasked to conduct a survey of the proposed route. As per the RDA, physical planning of the original RRR route has been completed. Furthermore, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/section-4-notification-for-rrr-land-acquisition-finalised.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">section 4 notification<\/a> to mark the start of land acquisition process has also been finalised, which now awaits the final go-ahead before it can be imposed.<\/p>\n<p>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/rda-to-begin-construction-work-on-rrr-in-march-2020.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RDA to begin construction work on RRR in March 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The RRR will be 360 feet-wide and feature several interchanges and underpasses on road crossings. In the meanwhile, land to be acquired for the project has already been marked. Furthermore, the relevant authorities will acquire 7,500 kanals of land at Sangjani for the proposed project.
