Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has released a list of cooperative housing schemes designated ‘safe’ for property purchases, a news source reported. As such, the list mentions the names of 81 housing projects as being confirmed under the said category – out of the total 200 cooperative housing societies located within the city.<\/p>\n

These housing schemes have been verified by the relevant government departments and society offices, and are therefore deemed secure for the public to buy plots in. In the meanwhile, the SBCA is continuing to verify the status of the remaining cooperative housing schemes referenced.<\/p>\n

To ensure transactions transparency, the SBCA has also recommended buyers to ask for a \u2018forwarding letter\u2019 \u2013 a document issued by the cooperative housing society which certifies that the plot in question belongs to the person selling it. Further, the buyer should visit the Master Plan Group Office to verify the society’s layout plan ; with  the final step being to get an SBCA construction approval .<\/p>\n
