Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday launched Pakistan\u2019s largest skill development programme<\/a>, called \u2018Hunarmand Jawan\u2019 \u2014 according to news sources. As per the publication, the programme is aimed at the economic emancipation of the country\u2019s youth population, by offering them professional training in various vocations.<\/p>\n

Under the programme, 500,000 youth are expected to be initially trained in a useful skillset. The first 70 skill development centres will be created in madrassahs to better prepare children to face the world. In the second phase, 300 smart training centres are to be established, allowing students to get access to international studies. These skill centres are also expected to have national accreditation in order to encourage healthy competition.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony to launch the development scheme, the PM expressed his hopes that the project will eventually put Pakistan on the road to success. He said that unequal wealth distribution was not the way of enlightened societies and that every hardworking man had the right to create a better future for themselves.<\/p>\n

Explaining the initiative, the PM said that the government was striving to revive dormant industries and to equip youth with modern skillsets. He assured that funding for the project in question would be increased in the future.
