Lahore: The federal government is looking to generate PKR 150 billion from privatisation proceeds in 2019-20 as part of the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation\u2019s (CCoP) approved plan for privatisation of 64 state-owned entities over five years \u2013 a news source reported. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan had originally been approved in October 31, 2018,\nand it was spread over three phases. In the first phase, the government has\nincluded eight Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) in the active privatisation\nprogramme. These will be privatised within 12 to 18 months. These include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. National Power Management Co Ltd Power Station: 1230\nMW Haveli Bahadur Shah<\/li>
  2. National Power Management Co Ltd Power Station:\n1223 MW Balloki Powr Plants<\/li>
  3. SME Bank Limited<\/li>
  4. Services International Hotel<\/li>
  5. Divestment of government of Pakistan’s residual\nshares in Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL)<\/li>
  6. Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad<\/li>
  7. Lakhra Coal Mines<\/li>
  8.  First\nWomen Bank Limited.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The government has already hired financial advisors for the\nprivatisation of two power plants and an SME Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nearly 41 PSEs are going to be privatised in phase two and the concerned ministries\/ divisions have been directed to conduct sectoral studies prior to their privatisation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The government has also de-listed 15 labour sensitive\nentities from privatisation list including Pakistan Steel Mills, Power\nDistribution Companies (DISCOs) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Other delisted entities include National Bank of Pakistan,\nIndustrial Development Bank Limited (IDBL), Trading Corporation of Pakistan\n(TCP), Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines\nLimited (SNGPL), Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), Civil Aviation\nAuthority (CAA), Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan (USC), Pakistan Steel\nFabricating Company Limited, National Highways Authority (NHA), National\nConstruction Limited (NCL), Printing Corporation of Pakistan (PCP) and Pakistan\nRailways as well as its allied facilities, factories, and workshops.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
