Islamabad: The Senate on Monday passed two private member bills including a legislation for establishing the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) for Islamabad \u2013 a news source reported. To this effect, senators from the treasury benches moved the Islamabad Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill 2018 and The National Counter Terrorism Authority (Amendment) Bill 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to details, RERA will be established under \u2018The Islamabad Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill 2018\u2019 and will work for regulation and promotion of the real estate sector in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill was originally meant to regularise the national\nproperty marketplace, but its jurisdiction was later reduced to include the ICT\nonly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, The National Counter Terrorism Authority bill seeks to \u2018devise a counterterrorism strategy that should address short, medium and long-term goals and devise action plans for their implementation\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, two other private member bills called \u2018The Torture\nand Custodial Death (Prevention and Punishment) Act 2020\u2019 and \u2018The Pakistan\nInstitute for Parliamentary Services (Amendment) Bill, 2020\u2019 were also referred\nto the committees concerned of the upper house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
