Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, PIA\nofficials and various ministers of the Balochistan assembly attended the\nceremony. Speaking at the occasion, CM Alyani said that the new runway at the\nQuetta airport would have the capacity to host bigger planes like the Boing 777,\nand offer better travel facilities to tourists and pilgrims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan\nInternational Airlines and the Civil Aviation Authority in teaching flying\nskills to other countries around the world and helping them set up their own\naviation industries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CM also took the opportunity to state that the Quetta\nInternational Airport and the under-construction Gwadar International Airport were\nincreasing in importance due to the development of the China-Pakistan Economic\nCorridor initiative.
