This initiative, following its launch, is expected to facilitate the approval of two World Bank (WB) budgetary support loans worth USD 750 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Read<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/fbr-given-two-days-refund-sales-tax-claims-exporters.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FBR given two days to refund sales tax claims of exporters (opens in a new tab)\">FBR given two days to refund sales tax claims of exporters<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advisor to the Prime Minister (PM) on Finance Dr Hafeez\nShaikh recently provided his approval to the establishment of the NTC during a\nmeeting of the National Finance Commission (NFC)\u2019s Monitoring Committee. The\nattendees also sanctioned the terms of reference (TORs) of the NTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to reports, the WB has delayed the approval of the\nbudgetary loans due to lack of consensus between the federal and provincial\ngovernments on the matter of sales tax rate in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The finance ministry revealed that NTC would have representation from all provinces. This will allow them to determine the rate of sales tax for goods and services.
