Multan: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aamir Khattak has requested the country’s philanthropists to donate medical supplies \u2014 including medical gowns, sanitisers and face masks \u2014 for the clinical staff operating in the city’s quarantine and isolation units built to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>, according to news sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While speaking to the representatives from the commercial and industrial units, he announced that the city administration, civil defence volunteers and waste management workers were available to assist the pilgrims that were still in isolation \u2014 after having arrived from other affected countries, like Iran. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nDC said that over a thousand workers were helping the quarantined pilgrims in\nvarious shifts, and that he was proud of their spirit and their service. He asked\nthe affluent section of the community to step forward and donate supplies for\nthese workers and food for the quarantined. He also said that the people should\nalso take into account the labourers who work for daily wages and are affected\nby the lockdown in the province \u2014 implemented in the wake of the COVID-19\npandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
