Karachi: The provincial authorities have initiated digitally\nmapping coronavirus patients in Karachi and two hospitals have also initiated\ntelemedicine services in the provincial capital, according to a news report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to experts, digitally mapping movement of mobile phones of COVID-19 positive cases would help track their travel history as well as trace their social contacts before they were tested. Reportedly, authorities are forming a comprehensive database in order to effectively tackle the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data highlights the Central district of Karachi is the\nworst-hit in the city, a source revealed and added that the Sindh Health\nDepartment had completed the digital mapping exercise for over 125 patients \u2013\nto effectively help identify further cases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another encouraging development in the fight against COVID-19 <\/a>is that two hospitals in Karachi have initiated telemedicine services to minimise misinformation. The Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) and the Institute of Family Medicine Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) have started these services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LNH helpline would allow people to get the information they need about on the COVID-19 outbreak or talk to a consultant on infectious diseases. This service is available from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm \u2013 free of charge. The contact number for this is 02134412965-66, and there is also a video link (http:\/\/doxy.me\/lnhconsultation). The hospital\u2019s website also has the relevant details. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The JSMU telemedicine services would cater to minor health\nissues and would let callers get advice from family medicine consultants from\n10 am to 2 pm from Monday to Saturday by contacting the following numbers:\n021-99205185 171131-32. This helpline, however, is only for minor issues, not\nmajor health crises or COVID-19 diagnostic facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
