Karachi: In a bid to support the government\u2019s fight against the prevailing coronavirus and to provide relief to those hard-hit, notable figures<\/a> and firms are coming forward with generous donations, according to the news sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nview with the sentiment of supporting the federal government\u2019s efforts, the JS\nBank \u2013 in association with its key partners \u2013 has established a PKR 110 million\nfund. This fund will operate on a three-tier strategy \u2013 providing immediate\nrelief, coronavirus pandemic control and response capacity building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first phase, rations and necessities worth PKR 30 million for the families in need. In the second phase, the bank will arrange for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and donate funds worth PKR 50 million to frontline institutions providing medical aid to the affectees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, legendary national\ncricketer Shahid Khan Afridi distributed food packages to 500 adversely\naffected families from the valley of Chitral. The cricketer-run welfare\nfoundation has been effectively working to provide relief to people amid the COVID-19\npandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
