The session was held as a result of the\nInternational Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB)\u2019s appeal to extend\ndebt relief to economically disadvantaged countries \u2014 to enable them to free up\ntheir resources amid the global coronavirus crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G20 approved of all the countries categorized under the WB\u2019s International Development Association (IDA)&nbsp;to be included in the proposed plan for debt relief. The due debts during this\nperiod will be packaged into a new loan for which the payments will start in\nJune 2022 \u2014 to be paid over three subsequent years. The group has prepared a\nstandardized term sheet for the payment added in this relief plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G20 countries, the IMF and the\nWB are still mulling whether to extend the suspension period to June 2021,\ndepending on the evolving situation.
