Peshawar: Local shop owners have announced their decision to waive off two-month rent to support their tenants amid the coronavirus lockdown, a source reported. The shop owners made the decision following Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan\u2019s announcement for not charging rents from his commercial entities. This had made it difficult for shopkeepers to keep paying rent during the lockdown imposed due to pandemic. Following the announcement from the local shop owners, tenants have expressed their appreciation. They have further requested the government to provide concessions in their utility bills. They also asked the government to ease lockdown conditions so that shops and small businesses could start earning a living.
