Islamabad: President Arif Alvi on Thursday summoned a session of the National Assembly (NA) for May 11 to discuss the negative impact of COVID-19 on the economy<\/a>, a news source reported. To this effect, the 21st<\/sup> session of the NA is expected to continue from May 11 till May 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Alvi summoned the session on the recommendation of a parliamentary committee to conduct a physical session. Parliamentary parties from both the government and opposition rejected the idea of a virtual NA session due to a range of technical and constitutional concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
