For this purpose, the contractor has started to remove installations at the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/meeting-held-to-record-concerns-on-firdous-underpass.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Firdous Market Underpass: Meeting held to record public feedback, concerns<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmed Khan Buzdar laid the project\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/cm-lays-foundation-stone-firdous-market-underpass.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">foundation stone<\/a> on May 18 to help relief traffic load on the central avenue that links Gulberg with Cant, Kalma Chowk, Jail Road and various other parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1 billion project is expected to be in four months. The 52-feet wide underpass will be 540 metres long and it will have a 2-lane dual carriageway. In order to make this project feasible, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has acquired 7 kanals of land along Ali Zaib road at a cost of PKR 450 million.
