Moreover, five additional projects with a combined capacity of generating 2,047 megawatts (including two 330-MW <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/electricity-produced-from-thar-coal-to-be-added-to-national-grid-in-december.html\" target=\"_blank\">Thar coal<\/a> power plants, 660MW Thar coal power plant, 7.08MW Riali-II hydropower project and 720MW Karot hydropower project) will become functional in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/ntdc-launches-work-on-220kv-jhampir-2-grid.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NTDC launches development work on 220KV Jhampir 2 grid<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, four power projects with an accumulative generation capacity of 2,160 MW will be ready by 2022, and 1,980MW will be added to the national grid through the IPPs in 2023.
