However, the authority\u2019s most crucial responsibility will be to develop a new city on the bank of the said river. Reportedly, the concerned department has already identified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/ravi-riverfront-development-project-99000-acres-to-be-acquired.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">99,000 acres<\/a> of land for the said project, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/section-4-for-acquiring-land-for-river-ravi-zone-approved.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">section 4 notification<\/a> to begin the land acquisition process has also been issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/pm-orders-development-of-12-cities-along-river-ravi.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PM orders development of 12 cities along River Ravi<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to developing a new city, the RUDA will also be responsible for managing traffic in the area, work on making the river water usable, and take <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/work-ravi-water-treatment-plant-lahore-begin-this-year.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">measures<\/a> to stop the river from being contaminated.
