The step was taken in the light of the measures being taken to control the transmission of COVID-19 and provide relief to the people affected by the ensuing lockdown imposed in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/punjab-postpones-application-of-valualion-tables.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Budget 2020-21: Punjab postpones application of immovable properties\u2019 valuation tables<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As revealed earlier in the Punjab Budget 2020-21, no new tax on the property sector was imposed, while the government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/punjab-budget-2020-21-reduction-in-stamp-duty.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reduced the stamp duty<\/a> to 1% and exempted registered real estate developers and builders from paying professional tax on provision of construction services.
