Islamabad: The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Climate Change recommended on Thursday that the Ministry of Climate Change should oversee the manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the country, according to a news report. It made this recommendation so that the ministry could ensure the environment-friendly status of all such vehicles. The committee instructed the Ministry of Industries and Production, and the Ministry of Climate Change to give them a briefing about EVs. In response, the Ministry of Industries and Production stated that it was jointly working with the Engineering Development Board for EV development, in coordination with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
