However, of the total number of lights, over 17,000 are currently out of order \u2014 leaving large parts of the city in darkness at nightfall. These include the streetlights situated on major avenues, service roads, markets, parks and grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the source, the streetlights have been slowly dying over the past decade, and the majority of non-functional lights are located within the city\u2019s relatively older sectors, like G6, G-7, G-8, G-9, I-9 and I-10.
