Islamabad: The federal government has decided to avoid the unnecessary delays affecting development projects<\/a> by transferring funds directly to the assigned account of the project director \u2014 with this initiative aimed at streamlining the said projects at the provincial level, according to a news source published on September 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secretary Planning Development and Special Initiatives Mathar Niaz Rana revealed this information to the media after a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Special Initiatives on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Rana briefed the gathered press that the committee had made it clear to the provinces, especially Balochistan, to make an assignment account for the project director in which funds for federally-funded development projects could be transferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further added that it could take two to three months to procure funds under the currently-practised mechanism.
