The P&amp;D Chairman gave a detailed briefing regarding various mega development projects undergoing in Karachi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, the Malir Expressway project is being developed with a budget of PKR 27 billion and will be launched under a public-private-partnership (PPP) model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was informed that the 27-kilometre-long Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Green Line project will be completed by June 2021. The Sindh government has also launched the 4.7-kilometre-long BRT Orange Line project, scheduled for completion by June 2021. As for the 21-kilometre-long Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Yellow Line project, it will be completed at a cost of PKR 61.44 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/body-formed-to-implement-karachi-transformation-plan.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Committee formed to oversee implementation of Karachi transformation plan<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the meeting was informed that seven stormwater drain schemes would be launched at a cost of PKR 258.7 billion in a bid to clear the rivers and nullahs of Lyari, Malir, Gujjar, Mehmoodabad and Orangi. The DHA Karachi stormwater drainage issues were being resolved under a PKR 10 billion scheme. The stormwater drain project was communicated to be 60% complete by July 2021 and the remaining work was said to be completed by July 2020.
